AFOP, Art For One Planet, facilitated small scale art installations around Fremantle WA by local artists which focus on the environment and sustainability. A hidden exhibition which told the story of One Planet Fest-A-Con Fremantle through a variety of different artforms. Strange spaces and pop-up places around Fremantle were the gallery for this extraordinary installation project.
Pixels+fibre participated with the installation The Biophilia Hypothesis I. The biophilia hypothesis suggests that there is an instinctive bond between human beings and other living systems. The installation is an acknowledgment of the sacredness of trees and a reference to their ritualistic role in many cultures around the world (Japan’s Yorishiro, Thailand’s Ton Mai, etc) as a physical space for spirits to occupy.
